Lozère
Lozère is a rural department that can be divided into 4 regions (Cévennes, Grands Causses, Aubrac and Margeride) which each have their own particularities offering very varied landscapes and climates.
The Margeride is a secret land, made up of silences and murmurs. Come and taste the serenity of these places, discover this territory with its turbulent past and many legends. Let yourself be told the famous story of the Beast of Gévaudan.
It is the 2nd largest national park in France, a haven of peace where man coexists with a very rich fauna and flora. A paradise for hikers (on foot or on 2 wheels), it offers enchanting landscapes and unspoilt nature.
Parc Naturel Régional de l’Aubrac
The Aubrac Plateau is a land of tradition. Large expanses are available to you for a timeless journey. Let yourself be seduced by the authenticity of the burons and this wild nature.
Grand Site Gorges du Tarn, de la Jonte et des Causses
What would Lozère be without its great causses, immense expanses reminiscent of the steppes of Asia, where pastoralism is king. These great causses have been designed over the millennia by the Jonte and the Tarn, whose gorges offer exceptional views for unforgettable walks.

Haute-Loire
The Haute-Loire, also very rural in its southern part, also offers a beautiful variety of landscapes. It is a land of breeding and production of the famous Green Lentil. Admire breathtaking panoramas but also discover Le Puy en Velay, the Velay pearl, with its many historic buildings including its famous cathedral classified by Unesco.
Capital of Velay, the city of Le Puy offers an immense architectural heritage. Starting from the Camino de Santiago and Stevenson, the city is known far beyond our borders and many tourists from all walks of life come to stroll through the narrow streets of the Old Town.
The Allier, which has its source in Lozère, marks the border with the Haute-Loire after passing through Langogne. Considered one of the last wild rivers in Europe, its gorges draw a magnificent landscape along its entire course to the north of the Haute-Loire.
Let’s take to the skies with the highest point of the Haute-Loire and the Ardèche. The Mézenc offers an extraordinary 360° view of the surrounding countryside, in good weather it is even possible to observe the Alps. Many hikes are possible, summer and winter, and it is possible to take to the skies with the paragliding instructors.

Ardèche
Far from the landscapes of the Rhône Valley, the west of the Ardèche offers a much more mountainous profile. Accustomed to harsh winters, the inhabitants have managed to preserve their traditions and the spirit of the highlands. Another perfect playground for hiking enthusiasts in love with wide open spaces.
Parc Naturel des Monts d’Ardèche
The Monts d’Ardèche Natural Park (of which the Mézenc is a part) offers breathtaking landscapes. It has been awarded the GeoPark label by UNESCO thanks to its environmental richness and the actions put in place to preserve it. Enjoy a wilderness where people have learned to deal with the vagaries of the weather.
The Ardèche rises near the Col de la Chavade before descending to join the Rhône. On its route it has drawn magnificent Gorges, dotted with famous structures (human or natural), which are today a nature reserve offering a great biodiversity and many activities to enjoy the wild beauty of the place.
